The University of Wisconsin-Parkside Athletics Department is committed to a balanced student-athlete experience that develops future leaders and active community members. As the only NCAA Division II member in the state of Wisconsin, we strive to live the “Life in the Balance” philosophy by promoting academic excellence, athletic success, and community engagement to ensure personal growth and development.

After helping the Parkside Rangers men’s basketball team to its first 2-0 start in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, sophomore Rasheed Bello has been named this week’s Kenosha.com Ranger of the Week.

Bello was a key contributor in two conference wins last weekend. The Chicago native averaged 18 points per game, netting his fourth 20-point game in Saturday’s 76-68 triumph over Northern Michigan.  In the come-from-behind victory, Bello also recorded the first double-double of his collegiate career, pulling down 12 rebounds to go along with his 20 points. He also scored a team-high 16 points in a 72-49 victory over Michigan Tech on Thursday, Dec. 1.

Currently, Bello ranks second in the GLIAC in scoring (17.8 ppg) and first in assists (4.4).

The Rangers are now 7-2 overall, which is their best start since the 2016-17 season when they went 22-8 and appeared in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
