Heads Up
Kenosha Creative Space will host their “End of Summer Cabaret,” a night of music, poetry, and visual arts, 7:30 p.m. Monday (Aug. 29). Hosts are Jenna Zeihen and Sage Holloway. The event is part of the Soul Space series, promoting healthy human connection, safe spaces, and a mission to encourage us to hear each other’s stories.
A $10 donation is encouraged but not required for entry. All proceeds support Kenosha Creative Space.

Kenosha Public Library and Hawthorn Hollow present an evening of stargazing and telescope viewing with a variety of telescopes on hand, and participants are welcome to bring their own. Volunteers will be present to help spot the night’s brightest objects. This is an adult and family outdoor event with no set viewing schedule and weather permitting (less 30% clouds.) Free.
Citizen Science: Globe at Night, 9-9:30 p.m., Hawthorn Hollow, 880 Green Bay Rd. This international citizen science project involves the public measuring and collecting night sky brightness observations. This outdoor program, hosted by Kenosha Public Library and Hawthorn Hollow, will be held the following night if cloud cover is more than 40% at dusk. Registration required.
Observe the Night Sky, 9 p.m., Richard Bong Recreation Area, 26313 Burlington Rd., Kansasville. Meet in Parking lot F to observe the night sky using telescopes or binoculars. Vehicle admission sticker is required: $8 per day for vehicles with Wisconsin plates (seniors $3) / $11 for vehicles with out-of-state plates. Annual state park vehicle admission sticker is also available. This event is weather permitting. On overcast nights the event will be canceled.
