Robert “Bob” O. Westman, 92, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, Friday, March 26, 2021 at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Medical Center.
He was born on February 5, 1929 to the late John and Sigrid (Petersen) Westman in Paris, WI. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha County.
Bob entered the US Army on November 2, 1948 and was honorably discharged on December 13, 1949.
On July 1, 1950 he married the love of his life Virginia Maginn.
Bob was a farmer in his younger years and then for the United States Post Office as Postmaster at Bristol, Lake Geneva, and Kenosha, from which he retired from.
Bob was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #286, the Danish Brotherhood #14, the Swedish American Club, the American Legion and the Postmaster’s Club.
Bob loved to read, enjoyed the challenge of Sudoku, he played button box and harmonica at nursing homes for several years, grilling out, watching sports and was a huge Packers and Brewers fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Virginia, his daughters Nancy Zambon, Jan (Len) Shenk, Peggy Weber, Donna (Joe) Jones and Kris (Wendell) Jahr, his 13 grandchildren, his 18 great grandchildren and his two great-great grandchildren and a daughter-in-law Barb Westman.
He is preceded in death by four sisters Florence (Bert) Johnson, Hildreth (Clarence) Mellor, Alice (Art) Johnson and Linnea (Ed) Olsen, a brother Jack (Carol) Westman, two sons Tom and Gerry, a daughter SuAnn, granddaughter Crystal, great granddaughter Isabella and a son-in-law Steve Zambon.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Saturday, April 3rd from 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Services at 4:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Full Military Honors will follow. Memorials would be appreciated to Hospice Alliance or to Wesley United Methodist Church.
