Rita B. Baker, 66, passed away Sunday August 8, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
She was born July 5, 1955, in Kenosha, WI the daughter of late Fritz and Erna (Rott) Ohm.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Rita attended Friedens and Bradford High School before attending Gateway and UW-Parkside, receiving her degree in horticulture and floral design.
On March 19, 2000, she married the love of her life, James Baker.
Rita worked throughout the years as a bartender and floral designer, before taking on the exclusive role of loving wife. Always the life of the party, she shared her love of cooking, baking, her contagious smile, and laughter with those she loved.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Jimmy; stepchildren Jennifer Baker and Matthew Baker; grandchildren: Natalia, Antonio, Jonah, and Jaxton; a sister-in-law Jane Ohm; a niece Kathleen Simons; long-time friends Donna Starck, Natalie Longworth, the Ryshkus family; a bonus daughter Quinn Gasparo, among many other loving friends.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her brother Fritz Ohm; sister, Elfriede Simons; niece, Margaret Stueck, and bonus daughter Shannon Ryshkus.
In accordance with her wishes, a celebration of Rita’s life will be held at a later date.
