Raymond “Ray” N. Bollendorf, 81, of Kenosha passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on December 6, 1939 to the late Frederick and Lucille (Zeyen) Bollendorf in Kenosha. He attended St. George Grade School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School.
On February 27, 1960 he married Sandra Schneider at St. George Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2016.
Ray owned and operated Kenosha Step for many years. Prior to owning Kenosha Step, he was a shop steward for Haubrick’s. He was a tool and die maker.
Ray was a former member of St. George (St. Elizabeth) Catholic Church and currently attended St. Lucy’s Catholic Church in Racine. He was a member of the Holy Name Society.
Ray was a volunteer for the food pantry and the soup kitchen for several years. Ray was head of the CYO and was one of its founding members. He also coached football and basketball at St. George Church.
Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a wonderful caregiver who took care of everyone. Ray was known as a jack-of-all-trades who could fix anything and helped all. He loved spending time up north and traveling to Florida. Ray was an avid Packers and Cubs fan. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids, going to and supporting all events that they were in.
Ray is survived by his loving children Robin (Mike) Reif of Somers, Raymond “Dugie” (Tracy) Bollendorf Jr. of Bristol, Mark (Lydia) Bollendorf of Mount Pleasant and Kevin (Jodi) Bollendorf of Janesville, his grandchildren Cody, Christina, Adria, Jamie, Griffin, Emily and Sara and his siblings Rob (Linda) Bollendorf, Rick (Carol) Bollendorf and Maggie Klein.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 21st from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church (3101 Drexel Ave. Racine) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 6:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at St. George Cemetery. Masks are required at the church.
