Nick Guarascio, age 91, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday October 14th, 2023, at Brookside Care Center in Kenosha. He was born on September 8th, 1932, after his parents Rosario and Kathrina Guarascio (Cosentino) immigrated here from Cosenza, Italy. He married Patricia May (Jarvey) on October 26th, 1957, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Kenosha. Nick spent most of his working career at American Brass Company and retired there after many years of service.
Nick excelled at baseball and softball. He played in the minor leagues in 1953 and was an important part of the 1962 Tirabassi slow pitch world championship held in Pittsburg. Nick played ball until he was 50 years old and coached the kids in CYO for 15 years. Nick loved watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Nick always had fond memories of going out the Italian American Club with his wife and their friends. He was a very active member at Mount Carmel Church and was an usher there for over 30 years.
Nick is survived by his children: Connie (Michael) Parise and David Guarascio, grandchildren: Toni Marie (Frank) Chiappetta, Michael Parise, Paul (Mariah) Parise, Joey Parise, Brian Guarascio, Brandon Guarascio, Arayel (Nick) Schroeder, Nicky Joe Guarascio, and Dante Guarascio, great grandchildren: Domenico, Alessandra, Giuseppe, Siena, Ella, Grayson, Bronx, Aadyn, Gianni, and Alaya, as well as many other living relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, and a son Nick.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 21st, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919 54th St. A visitation with the family will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. to the time of the service. Entombment will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
