It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew John Sparks, a beloved son, nephew, cousin, grandson, friend, and a kind-hearted soul who left this world too soon. Matthew left this world unexpectedly on June 22, 2023, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His loving spirit, unwavering friendship, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on October 17, 2000, Matthew was a gentle giant who brought joy and warmth into the lives of his loved ones from the very beginning. He possessed a rare ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued. Matthew’s caring nature knew no bounds, and he genuinely cared for everyone who crossed his path. Matthew’s dedication to his family and friends was immeasurable, and he found great joy in making those around him happy.
Matthew was an amazing friend, someone who went above and beyond to ensure the happiness and well-being of his loved ones. His friends could always count on him for a listening ear, a helping hand, or a shoulder to lean on.
In his free time, Matthew enjoyed working on computers. From building computers to troubleshooting, Matthew’s technical skills were remarkable. His enthusiasm for learning and experimenting with new technologies knew no bounds. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, sharing his knowledge and expertise with patience and kindness.
Matthew was also a devoted fan of the New England Patriots. His enthusiasm and passion brought joy to those around him, creating lasting memories and shared experiences. He was a lover of metal music. His love for music was evident, and he would often share his favorite bands and songs, introducing others to the world he held so dear.
Matthew’s impact went far beyond his hobbies and interests. He had an uncanny ability to light up a room with his infectious smile and his quick wit. His sense of humor was unparalleled, and he could always be counted on to bring joy and laughter into any gathering. In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, Matthew is survived by his mother Erin Sparks, who cherished him beyond measure. They shared an unbreakable bond that transcended words, and though his physical presence may be gone, his spirit will forever live on in her heart.
He is also survived by his grandparents, John and Charlene Sparks, his aunt, Erica Sparks-Bermudez (Rob Mongeau), his uncle, Mike Sparks. His cousins, Joshua Bermudez (Maegan Lee), Jacob Bermudez (Ashley Bermudez), McKenzie Bermudez, Michael Hamilton, and Autumn Hamilton.
The wake to honor Matthew’s life will be held at Bruch Funeral Home, located at 3503 Roosevelt Road, Kenosha, WI 53142. Friends and family are invited to attend the wake on Thursday, June 29 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, to share memories, offer condolences, and pay their respects. Final visitations will also be held on Friday, June 30, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, providing an opportunity for loved ones to bid their farewells.
Matthew’s funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30 at 12:00 pm at OakWood Cemetery, located at the intersection of Hwy E and Highway 31 (Green Bay Road), in the Village of Somers, Kenosha County. This will be a solemn ceremony to honor and remember Matthew’s life, where family and friends can gather to celebrate his spirit and say their final goodbyes.
In honor of Matthew’s deep love for sports, his mother Erin kindly requests that guests wear any jerseys they may have to the services.
