Lynne A. Lafayette, age 80, of Racine passed away on Tuesday, September 14th, 2021 at Ascension All Saints Hospital with her family by her side. Lynne was born on March 24th, 1941 in Kenosha to James and Alyce (Lindberg) Gott and was educated at Mary D. Bradford High School. She married Gene Hafke in 1958, and the couple later separated. In March of 1986, she married Kenneth Lafayette. She was a member of the Lady Eagles Auxiliary, and enjoyed bingo, playing the lottery, watching movies, baseball, and football – especially the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and two cats, Oliver and Stanley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken in 2018, her ex-husband Gene in 2016, and her siblings: Donna Winkler, Joan Gott, Dean Gott, and Pamela Gott.
Lynne is survived by four children: Gene (Beth Garcia) Hafke, Michelle (Jay Siegel) Hafke, Ken Lafayette Jr., and Julie Lafayette; three grandchildren: Ryan Hafke, Jenna Hafke, and Samantha Lafayette; two brothers: Ronnie (Lorraine) Gott and Dennis (Carol) Gott; three sisters: Beverly Crawford, Marilyn (Robbie) Poteet, and Barbara Hammack, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In accordance with Lynne’s wishes, a private burial at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery will take place.
