Loni Ruth Singer, age 100, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Hospice House. She was our beloved Mom, Grandma and Oma.
Born in Lodz, Poland on December 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Emanuel and Berta (Reksiedler) Folzenloben. She was educated in her homeland. She moved to Germany and later immigrated to the United States in 1951, along with her husband and her young son.
On June 22, 1943, Loni was united in marriage to Jan H. Spivek. Sadly, Jan passed away on June 27, 1967. She later married Richard Singer in 1974. He passed away in 1978.
She was employed as an Assembler/Inspector for American Motors and Chrysler for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
Loni was a faithful member of New Life Lutheran Church-East (formerly Friedens) and the Ladies Aid. She also was a member of the UAW Local 72 Retirees, D.A.N.K. German Club and the Kenosha Senior Center.
She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, dancing, cooking, baking, knitting, crocheting and gardening. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to Germany. Loni loved animals and feeding the birds. She had a lifelong strong faith in God.
She was much loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Loni is survived by her children, John (Sharon Schend) Spivek and Marita Loni (Spivek) Jones; her grandchildren, Lynn Spivek, Lisa Bochinski, Christel Block, Alison Copsey, Ashley Trickey, Kathryn Jones, Andrew Spivek and Jamie Jones; and her twelve great-grandchildren.
Loni was also preceded in death by her grandson, Kurt John Spivek in 1970 and her brother, Arno Folzenloben in 2001.
Service Date April 4, 2023
Funeral services honoring Loni’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at New Life Lutheran Church-East (formerly Friedens) 5038 19th Ave.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Cemetery.
A visitation for Loni will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at church.
