Laurene Dumke-Barnes, 93, of Kenosha passed away peacefully on June 12, 2024, at Robin Way Senior Living following a brief illness.
Laurene was born on August 14, 1930, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late Burell and Edith (Worley) Sparks. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Laurene married Richard Dumke on May 14, 1949, in Kenosha, who later passed away. Laurene married Norman Barnes on April 14, 2018 in Kenosha. She was employed by Great Lakes Naval Station and First Christian Church, she also worked as a teacher’s aid for Kenosha Unified Schools. Laurene was a lifelong member of First Christian Church. Her hobbies included knitting, counted cross stitching, gardening, and volunteering at First Christian Church. Most of all, she loved spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include her husband, Norman Barnes of Kenosha; sons, John (Barbara) Dumke of Kenosha, Robert (Pamela) Dumke of Glen Allen, VA, Dale Dumke of Toledo, OH; daughter, Susan (Kevin) Kaleck of Kenosha; step-daughter, Debbie (Dominic) Gastaldi of Kenosha; sister, Marilyn (Marlin) Doxtater; grandchildren, Michael Kaleck, Kimberly (Thomas) Sieber, Ryan Dumke; and her great-granddaughter, Violet Sieber. Laurene was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Richard Dumke.
A visitation will be held at First Christian Church on Tuesday June 18, 2024, from 9:00AM-10:00AM with funeral services to follow immediately at 10:00AM. Burial at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Laurene has requested donations be made to, First Christian Church.
