Karen L. Kinsman, 79, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 26, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center.
She was born on February 13, 1942 to the late Clarence and June (Pitts) Roberg in Paynesville MN. Karen was raised in New Berlin, WI and attended schools in Brookfield. She came to Kenosha in 1978.
On October 15, 1977 she married James L. Kinsman in West Allis. He preceded her in death on October 8, 2019. She is also preceded in death by her grandson James Michael and a sister Diane Nelson.
Karen was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church and was one of the founding members.
Karen was a member and past president of PTA, a member of CUSH (Congregations United to Serve Humanity) and a member of the Rainbow Push Coalition.
Karen was a hairstylist for 20 years and worked with her husband at KJS Pools & Spa.
Karen was an avid reader, a great baker, baking everyone’s birthday cake and was known for her peach pie. She was a quilter and was very artistic.
Karen is survived by her children Kim Hayes of Thomasville, GA, Paige Stafford of Knoxville, TN, Mike (Jodi) Brathovde of Port Washington and Jayne (Yasser) Musitef of Evanston, IL, her step children Gail Khayat of Kenosha and Ann Kinsman of Washington DC, her grandchildren Sarah, Steven, Ryan, Mitchell, Daniel, Nathan, Morgan and Zaina, her five great grandchildren and her siblings Lyle Roberg of Waukesha, Roger (Pat) Roberg of West Allis and Wendy (Randy) Podolsky of Lake Forest, IL.
A Celebration of Life for Karen will be held on Friday, July 30th at 6:00 p.m. at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (5601 Washington Road). Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Masks are required.
