June Sylvester, 78, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Hospice Alliance Hospice House on Friday November 11, 2022. June battled cancer for 6 years and put up a great fight every step of the way.
June was born on June 18, 1944 to the late Leo and Viola (Quesnell) LaCourse in Lake Falls, Minnesota. She was educated in Sparta, WI.
June was an “old Hollywood” buff and enjoyed reading books about their lives. She loved classic movies, especially “An Affair to Remember”. In addition to her love for classics, The Green Bay Packers and Elvis Presley were dear to her heart.
June is survived by her daughters Tina (Dena) Sylvester and Tammy Jackson, sister Lois (Jim) Hillbo, brother John (Sherri) LaCourse, many nieces and nephews, and former husband Butch (Renee) Sylvester whom have remained friends. June is preceded in death by her parents Leo (Viola) LaCourse and sister Delore Parks.
June was an amazing grandma to her 4 grandchildren, Kaylee, Luke, Addison and Riley. She loved her grandchildren dearly. One of her final wishes was for them to remember her fondly, to which she greatly achieved.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bandealy and Aurora Cancer Center, Aurora at Home Hospice, and Hospice Alliance Hospice House for the outstanding care that was provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations to be made to St. Jude, as June was a strong supporter of this charity.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
