Judy A. Carlson, 64, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Froedtert South St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus.
She was born on September 22, 1956 to the late Arthur and Charlotte Korgan in Englewood, CA. Judy graduated from Pioneer High School class of 1974. She then studied at Southland Dental School earning a Dental Associates Degree in 1976.
Judy went through a tough time after losing her parents at the age of 31. Her daughter Chandra was born on May 21, 1990 in Whittier, CA. She decided to start a new life for the sake of her new baby girl and did just that. Less then a year, she would pack up her most valuable belongings and left everything else behind headed off to Wisconsin with close friends who made a pact to stand together. It wasn’t too long she realized it was the best decision to make a whole new life with her baby girl.
Judy worked as a secretary for Karen Johnson productions which brought many new friends from bosses to co-workers. It came along with many good times, celebrations and holiday get togethers. In 1999 she got a new job at Great Lakes Credit Union which gave her pleasure of meeting many people, new friends and more opportunity.
In 1994 she started going to Grace Lutheran Church. Judy and her daughter became members of the church right away, where she fit right in. Judy became an active member of the church holding Vice President and President of the church council and held them for many years. She was active in Vacation Bible School, confirmation classes, a chaperone for sleep overs, dances and trips to waterparks, participated in many potluck dinners and enjoyed Christmas caroling for the shut-ins. Judy was a current member of Spirit Alive Church.
Judy enjoyed gardening, listening to 70’s classic rock and was a kind-hearted woman with many friends. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her loving daughter Chandra Carlson and her grandchildren Andrew, Juliea and Maliyah. She is also survived by many close friends who are like family.
She is preceded in death by a sister Wilma.
A Celebration of Life for Judy will be held on Sunday, September 12th at 4:00 p.m. at Spirit Alive Church (8760 – 37th Ave.). Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service.
