Jane Nelson-Streit, 80, of Kenosha passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at Sage Meadow in Mt. Pleasant.
Jane was born on September 16, 1940, in Greenbush, MN. She was the daughter of the late Anselm and Helen Goroski. She was educated in the schools of MN. Jane married Clarence Nelson in June 1959 at St. Aloyious Catholic Church, Greenbush, MN. They moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1960 where they resided until 1974 when they moved to Kenosha. After Clarence passed away in January 2006, Jane later married William Streit in August 2007. He later passed away in May 2014.
Jane was a strong, yet gentle, selfless, and devoted woman. Because of her unfaltering faith and determination, she was a three-time cancer survivor.
Jane was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, and a former member of St. Therese Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Mothers of Perpetual Help, Christian Mothers, and a Eucharistic Minister. She found joy in serving at the church for festivals, events, and praying her rosary.
Jane worked in the meat department at Piggly Wiggly for over 20 years.
Jane enjoyed cooking and baking meals for her family and grandchildren. Her other hobbies included playing slot machines and bingo. She also loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Joseph (Kari) Nelson of Kenosha; Anthony (Bonnie Kraft) Nelson of Kenosha; Heather (Derek) Free of Friendship; brothers, Allan Goroski; Matt (Pauline) Goroski; sisters, Doris (Bill) Bruff; Diane (Richard) Lavish; Karen Pulczinski; Netta Schumacher, her grandchildren, Kacy (Jake) Puntillo; Karlie Nelson; Natalie (Gartzke) Nelson; Clayton Free; Jadon Free, and four great grandchildren, Logan, Marley and Baker Nelson, and Finnlee Puntillo.
Jane was preceded in death by her grandson, Timothy Nelson; her husbands, Clarence Nelson and William Streit; her parents, Anselm and Helen Goroski; her sister, Betty Pecha; her brother, Don Goroski; and a daughter in infancy, Janet Mary.
A visitation will be held on Saturday August 7, 2021, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 9:00AM-11:00AM with funeral services to follow at 11:00AM.
