On Thursday, April 15, 2021 James “Jim” F. Nagell, loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend to many, passed into eternity at the age of 76.
Jim was born on June 11, 1944 in Rochester, NY to the late Raymond and Julia (Bartholomew) Nagell. He was raised in Rochester, NY.
Jim attended Iowa State College, Ames IA until he joined the US Navy in 1965. He served on the USS Enterprise air craft carrier as a nuclear reactor operator during Vietnam until 1971.
Jim married Annetta Durdik on September 17, 1966. They were blessed with two children Todd and Nina.
After serving in the US Navy and receiving training in nuclear reactor operations, he completed his engineering degree. Jim had a career as a Nuclear Electrical Design Engineer. He retired in 2014 from Nextera Energy.
Jim enjoyed many hobbies and interests, but most dear to Jim was his passion for God and God’s Word.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Annetta, his son Todd Nagell and daughter-in-law Alisa, his daughter Nina Veenstra and son-in-law Harvey, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Margaret and Shirley and his brother Raymond.
A Private Memorial Service honoring Jim’s life was held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran Memorial Cemetery with a Christian Service and eulogy conducted by Jim’s close friend Pastor Ron Auch Jr., followed by Full Military Honors.
