James Ellis, 85, of Kenosha passed away on September 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
James was born on April 14, 1939, in Kenosha, the son of the late Clyde and Lucille (Steinbach) Ellis. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. James married Marie Hollenbeck on September 30, 1967, in Kenosha. He was employed for the Kenosha County Detention Center for many years. Previously he also worked for AMC/Chrysler for 20 years and was an owner for J&M Capri Liquor. James was part of the Red’s Roller Rink family coaching peewee, ladies and men’s hockey teams. He was a member of the United States Army. His hobbies included cheering for the Green Bay Packers but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family, especially with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Ellis of Kenosha; children, Lindsay (Mark) Ohmstead of Bruce, WI, Kristy (Steve Stone) Ellis of Kenosha; brother, Robert (Michelle) Ellis of WA; also included are his grandchildren, Madalynn and Lilianna Ohmstead. James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Cylde J. Ellis.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
