Ivana Sebben, 85, of Kenosha, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at Brookside Care Center.
Born on October 3, 1935, in Loreo Italy, she was the daughter of the late Marcello and Elisa (Zanirato) Milani.
She met her future husband, Bert Sebben, with the help of her teacher, Sister Catherine Sebben, who happened to be Bert’s older sister. While serving for the American Army, Bert struck up a long distant relationship with Ivana. Bert surprised Ivana at her doorstep in Loreo, ring in hand, and asked her to marry him on the very first day they met. They were married in Loreo, Italy on August 20, 1956 in her small hometown church.
Ivana was a self-employed seamstress with a passion for imagining and creating elegant dress designs. Her favorite was creating one-of-a-kind dresses for brides and bridesmaids. Once she had the honor of making a gown for Miss Wisconsin. She loved to travel. Many of those trips entailed bringing her young family back to Italy so that her “American” family could remain close to her Italian Family. To the end, she kept a strong faith in God and love for family. Ivana was an amazing cook and a great host making sure there was always food and drink ready for guests.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Patsy) Sebben, Angelo (Nancy) Sebben, and Lisa (Danny) Rasch; five grandchildren, Nicholas (Meghan) and Anthony Sebben, Maria (Mike) Voss, Monica, and Michael Rasch; great grandchild Cooper Sebben. She is further survived by extended relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ivana is preceded in death by her husband Bert and sister Fernanda Milani.
