Herbert A. Lang, age 83, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday August 28th, 2021 at his residence.
Born on March 3rd, 1938, in Kenosha to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Braun) Lang.
He attended St. Mary’s Catholic school in Kenosha and attended college in Dubuque Iowa .
On March 8th, 1958, he married the love of his life MaryAnn Hazen.
He was employed for several years at Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company (Currently AT&T) where he happily retired.
He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was very active in the congregation. He was also active in the Boy Scouts of America as a scout leader.
During his retirement years he loved to travel with MaryAnn including cruising, casino bus trips and spending countless hours on roller coasters at Great America. He also enjoyed snow birding to Marco Island in the winter months.
Above all he enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially if it involved a Packer game (and sweets). He was a past member of The Snow Blazers snowmobile club and The Modern Gyspy’s Camp Club. He was also a member the Kenosha Moose Lodge #286 .
He will be remembered by friends and family as having a great sense of humor and a wealth of information. He loved to tell stories and could remember every detail. For those that knew him he was regarded as loving and caring and will be deeply missed by all.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, MaryAnn of Kenosha and his children: Cathy (Al) Greenwald, Mike (Fay) Lang, Jeannine (Dennis) Basley and David Lang, 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Herb is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father in law, brother in law and his daughter Susan.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday September 11th, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the Kemper Center Founders Hall. (6501-3rd Avenue Kenosha) Visitation with the family will be on Saturday in Founders Hall from 9:30AM until the time of services. Burial will follow at All Saints Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Moose Heart Charities for Children are suggested and deeply appreciated.
