Gladys Amburn, 86, of Kenosha passed away on Tuesday November 15, 2022 at the Hospice Alliance-Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie surrounded by her loving family.
Gladys was born on January 6, 1936 in Kenneth, MN, the daughter of the late Ole & Josephine (Sunde) Bentsen. She graduated from Adrian Community School in MN in 1952. Gladys married Robert H. Amburn on May 2, 1956 in Sioux Falls, S.D. She was employed at Marshalls in Kenosha for many years, previously working at Lewis Central High School as a secretary in Council Bluffs, IA. Her hobbies included reading, camping & fishing, but most of all spending time with family, friends, and her cat named Zoey.
Survivors include her children, Roger (Deb) Amburn of Council Bluffs, IA, Mark (Teri) Amburn of Pleasant Prairie, Lisa (Doug) Rew of Council Bluffs, IA; 5 grandchildren, Emily & Sarah Amburn, Jennifer (Mark) Gibbs, and Brian & Collin Rew; and a great grandson, Caspian. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, many siblings, and granddaughter, Aubrey.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
