Gene Mutchler, 93, of Pleasant Prairie passed away on Friday July 23, 2021, at Parkside Manor Assisted Living surrounded by his loving family.
Gene was born on April 16, 1928, in Aneta, North Dakota, the son of the late Walter and Gina (Hillesland) Mutchler. He was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Gene was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps serving in WWII. Gene married Leila Dreger on April 26, 1952, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kenosha. He worked at American Motors Corporation for over 40 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, gardening, traveling but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Gary (Phyllis) Mutchler of Bristol; Jack Mutchler of Pleasant Prairie; daughter, Lynda (Michael) Durbin of Burlington; brother, Jerome Mutchler of Pleasant Prairie; also included are 7 grandchildren Michelle Hudson, Ryan Durbin, Lisa Herbstreith, Greg, Megan, Melissa, Jack, Jr Mutchler and 5 great grandchildren Kaylyn & Leah Hudson, Logan, Hollie & Conor Herbstreith; and in laws Garriet & Viola Dreger, sister in laws, Molly Dreger and Sally Mutchler.
Gene was preceded in death by his wife, Leila, of 67 years; 5 brothers, Wayne, Walter, Ray, Lonnie and Larry Mutchler; and daughter in law, Kristin Mutchler.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021, at Kenosha Funeral Services from 10:00AM-11:00AM with memorial services to follow immediately at 11:00AM.
