Faye A. Herzog, age 87, of Kenosha passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021, peacefully at home with her family by her side. Faye was born on June 24, 1933 in Two Rivers, WI to Emmett and Ruth Pawlitzke. She attended local schools and graduated from Washington High School in Two Rivers, WI. She attended UW-Oshkosh and graduated with a degree in elementary education.
Faye’s teaching career began in Beloit, WI, but she shortly moved to Kenosha where she taught at Wilson Elementary before taking some time off to raise her family. Teaching was her passion, so when she was asked to come back and teach 1st grade at Forest Park Elementary, she gladly accepted. During her 30 years of teaching, she touched many lives before retiring in 1995.
Faye married Rudy Herzog of Manitowoc, WI on August 11, 1956. During their 58 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling together, tending to their gardens, and spending time with their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. After retirement, they spent many winters in Florida making new friends and enjoying the warm weather. Faye also loved to cook, read, and play games on her iPad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudy; two sons, Steven and Scott Herzog; and her parents, Emmett and Ruth.
Faye is survived by her sister, Diane (Robert) Rusch; two daughters, Tamara (Roger) McNab and Tracy (Tony) Larson; Steven’s wife, Vickie Herzog; her grandchildren, Adam, Katie, and Liz McNab, Kyle (Danyel) and Ryan (Amanda) Herzog, Ashley (Austin), Kelsie, Morgan, and Aaron Herzog, Tara (Brett) Christopher and Tanner Larson; as well as four great-grandchildren, Alex, Josiah, Asher, and Gabrielle.
