Edward W. Beck, Jr., of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, Thursday,
April 8, 2021, at Froedtert South Street, St. Catherine’s Medical Center.
He was born on November 9, 1952 to the late Edward and Dolores (Donavon) Beck Tompkins.
Edward entered the US Army Medical Corps and was honorably discharged after serving in Vietnam. He earned several commendations including the Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Bronze Service Star.
Ed enjoyed all sports, especially baseball, with his favorite team being the Chicago Cubs. His other hobbies included drawing and ceramics. He was self-taught in physics and psychology.
Ed is survived by his brothers and sisters Dolores Johnson (Roosevelt), Judy Lewis, Janet Pabian (John), Kathy Hickrod (Stan), Howard Beck, Mary Hill, Joseph Beck (Khristy), Terry Huber (Kevin), and many nieces and nephews.
Ed is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Linda and George Kercheval.
A Celebration of Life with full Military Honors for Ed will be held on Tuesday, April 13, at 11:00 a.m., at the Bruch Funeral Home with a visitation starting at 10:30 a.m. A burial will be held Thursday April 22, at 1:00 p.m., at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery (21731 Spring Street Union Grove, Wisconsin, 53182).
Masks are required and social distancing is encouraged. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated. A zoom meeting will be available to anyone not able to attend in person.
