Drusilla Jane Donnelly-Carl, 72, of Kenosha, WI, died on May 1, 2023. Dru, as she preferred to be called by friends and family, was born on July 29, 1950, to Lloyd and Virginia Donnelly in Markham, IL.
Dru lived her life between the dashes. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. Dru brought life, joy, and laughter to any gathering. She was kind, generous and would lend a hand to anyone in need. Her presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
After being crowned Miss Markham in 1965, graduating from Bremen High School in 1968, she had a short modeling career, teaching career, and in 1972 started working at United Airlines. She remained with United until her retirement in 2014. It was at United where she met James Carl/aka/Dennis, her devoted husband of 30 years who survives her.
In 1989 she gave birth to her beautiful daughter, Jessi Jane (Weide) Fiscal, who along with her husband, Jose, and their adorable 1 year old Emiliano, survive. Dru was a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved her daughter fiercely; they truly had a unique Mother/Daughter bond.
Dru had many creative talents which is evident in her home in Kenosha. She loved working with her hands whether in dirt, acrylics, fabric, or anything that she could use to create! She liked to color things for the holidays. We will never forget her colored shrimp or her dog. Even the icicles on her house couldn’t be without color.
Dru was a loving sister, a forever friend who will be missed by her sisters: Susan Stolz and Teri Hajek (Scott). She was preceded in death by her brother: Lloyd/aka/Donnie; sister-in-law, Marjorie; and her nephew, Greg. She was a fun-loving aunt to Kim, Tam (Darryl),Greg (Susanna), Brad (Suzy), Bill (Bonnie), Jim (Michael), Elizabeth (Aaron), Halie (Bryan), Rachel (Josh) and their families. She will also be missed by many friends, and her dog Calli.
There is a new angel in heaven and the reunion must be spectacular. While they are celebrating Dru’s arrival in heaven, we plan on A Celebration of life or as Dru would have preferred “Put the fun back in funeral.” Details to be determined. If you can’t join us, please write out your special memory of this beautiful woman.
