Diane M. Janson, 67, of Pleasant Prairie WI, passed away, with family and friends at her side, Friday June 11, 2021 at Froedert St. Catherine’s Hospital.
Diane was born on September 12, 1953 to the late Daniel P. Ristow and Mary-Lou Cooper (Hunziker) in Chicago, Illinois.
Diane married Bert Janson in 1980 and they had a daughter Lisa.
Diane enjoyed gardening, swimming, watching reality/drama tv shows, and traveling. She was a big Chicago Cubs/Blackhawks fan and rarely missed watching a game. She celebrated 32 years of sobriety on December 26th, 2020, and was an inspiration to many in her recovery community. She loved hosting many gatherings at her home with her family & friends, where she made all feel welcome. She worked for many years as an Accounts Receivable/Payroll Rep at Medtec Medical and just retired January 2021 but continued working part-time from home. In the last three years Diane was able to check off two of her bucket list items which made her exceptionally happy; she became a proud Grammy to Neven and she moved into her forever dreamhome in WI. Diane had a contagious smile, a bubbly charismatic personality and a warm, generous spirit for others.
Diane is survived by her daughter Lisa Janson (Daniell Sabater), her grandson Neven Sabater, her step-daughter Yvonne (Janson) Eckhoff and Yvonne’s children.. Stephanie, Jordan & Eric Eckhoff, her step-son Scott Janson, her nephew Daniel (Alexa) Ristow, her puppy Cooper and grand puppy Elroy. She is preceded in death by her life partner Bert Janson, her sister Lu Ann Ristow and her parents.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday July 10th from 12pm-4pm @ 1714 West Granville Chicago, with shared memories given by family/friends. A potluck style luncheon will be served. In light of recent family losses, instead of flowers/plants, family preference is either donations to help with memorial/funeral costs or a donation to any resource that supports Recovery in the name of Diane Janson.
