Deborah “Debbie” L. Coan, 62, of Kenosha, WI passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha, WI.
She was born in Kenosha, WI on August 8, 1959 to the late William and Audrey (Martell) Homes. Debbie attended local schools and graduated from George Nelson Tremper High School in 1977. On October 21, 1978, she married Samuel Coan at Grace Lutheran Church in Kenosha, WI.
Debbie was a dedicated and successful insurance agent for 30 plus years. She was an American Family Agent in Winthrop Harbor, IL for 20 years, and most recently for her daughter, Michelle, at Michelle Fonk Insurance Agency in Winthrop Harbor, IL. Debbie was an active member of the Winthrop Harbor Lions Club and served as past President. She enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. Debbie liked to play slot machines and was an excellent card player. In the fall, Debbie and Sam spent many years driving the Mississippi River to see the beautiful colors the change of season brings. Above all, Debbie cherished the time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters.
Surviving Debbie is her husband of 43 years, Samuel; her two daughters, Michelle (Adam) Fonk and Nicole (Jason) Boyer; siblings, Daniel (Susan) Homes, David Homes, and Donald Homes; and granddaughters, Emily and Elizabeth Fonk. Debbie is further survived by nieces, nephews, and many close friends and clients.
Visitation for Debbie will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m and will continue the following day, Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Saint Mary’s Lutheran Church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, at 11:00 a.m. Masks are required for attendance. Interment will be held privately at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
