Christine (Zawacki) Cripps, age 80 of Kenosha, died on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie Hospital.

Born in Milwaukee on July 8, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Karpik) Zawacki.

Christine graduated from Casimir Pulaski High School in 1960 and moved to Spooner, Wisconsin to raise her three children.  During that time, she taught herself shorthand, a unique talent which proved quite valuable in her career. She was employed for 25 years as a legal secretary for the Wisconsin State Public Defender first in Spooner and then in Kenosha.

On October 29, 1983, Christine was united in marriage to Keith Cripps. They spent 26 years together before his passing on December 31, 2009.

Christine enjoyed painting, jewelry making and her beloved cat, Pepper.

Christine is survived by her children, Janine Henson, Joseph Jaremba, Jacalyn (James) Marison; grandchildren, Rachel (Zach) Peschman, Kyle Henson, Emily Marison, Karley Henson; great-grandchildren, James & Dean Peschman, and her brother, Rodney (Diane) Zawacki and sister, Cynthia Washkuhn.  She is further survived by best friend, Carol Peters.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Keith.


Service Date January 10, 2023

SERVICE LOCATION St. Peter’s Catholic Church

Funeral services honoring Christine’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 2224 30th Ave, Kenosha, WI.

Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum.

A visitation for Christine will be held will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church.
