Christel Ella Hart, 79 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at her home.
She was born June 1, 1944, in Tilsit, Germany, the daughter of the late Helmut and Ella (Westfall) Rogall. On March 8, 1980, she married Ronald Hart and he preceded her in death in 2007. Christel came to the United States in 1952 and became a U.S. Citizen in 1984.
Known affectionately as “Grandma Apple” to her great-grandsons, Isaac and Wyatt, Christel was always up for anything. Her social character and adventurous spirit took her on many senior bus trips, and trips with family and friends. She also enjoyed coffee dates and meals with former coworkers who became treasured friends. Christel was a member of the Kenosha Senior Center and loved her dogs, Penny and Maggie.
Survivors include her children, Thomas Magray, Jane Magray, Mark Kunza, and Candace (Richard) Sabin-Kunza; brothers, Guenther (Donna) Rogall, Karl (Dyanne) Rogall, and David (Lorrie) Rogall; grandchildren, Justin Kirby, Kati Kelly, Nadine Magray, Sean Magray, Tiffany Treiber, Ryan Treiber, Aja Acuff, Savanna Kunza, and Amber Cochran; and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Christel was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Magray.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home, with funeral services commencing at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private in Union Grove Cemetery, Union Grove, WI. Those desiring may make contributions to the Senior Action Counsel – Kenosha, in her memory.
