Brenda Kay Gonzales, 76, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Sunday, January 23, 2022 at her residence.
She was born on January 8, 1946 to the late Thomas and Jessie E. (Phelps) Combs in Tyrell, N.C. She was educated in the schools of Creswell, N.C.
On September 13, 1971 she married John Oscar Gonzales Sr. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2014.
Brenda worked at the Pentagon as a secretary for three years then as an assembler at AMC/Chrysler for 25 years mostly at the lakefront plant, retiring in 2001. Brenda was a proud member of UAW Local #72.
Brenda was a born again Christian and loved Jesus Christ. She enjoyed country music, singing, Elvis and collecting crystals and figurines. Most of all, she loved being a mom.
Brenda is survived by her children John Oscar (Maribeth Manumba) Gonzales Jr., Hope Gonzales, Dan Thomas Gonzales and Marc Anthony Gonzales Sr., her seven grandchildren, her four great grandchildren and her sister Minnie “Marie” Hufton.
She is preceded in death by her siblings Peggy Davenport, Bud Davenport and Diane Phelps and a granddaughter Autumn Gonzales-Stouffer.
Funeral Services for Brenda will be held on Wednesday, February 2nd at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at the Bruch Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Casimir’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
