Bonnie Sue Ankney, 80, of Bristol passed away unexpectedly on Monday March 6, 2023.

Bonnie was born on August 26, 1942 in Pewaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Walter & Lois (Minor) Hermann.  She was educated in the schools of Kenosha. Bonnie married James Ankney on June 27, 1964 in Bristol. A homemaker for many years, she dabbled in piano, harp, and video games. She loved reading books on a variety of topics, learning new things, and sharing them with others. She produced a series of craft shows for Kenosha Community Access TV to make crafts accessible to everyone. She was known for writing encouraging letters and notes to her family and friends and sometimes even riddles. She loved God and her family. In the later years, she shouldered caregiving responsibilities with grace and tenderness. Spending time with family was especially important. She was very proud of her grandchildren, great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews and will be remembered for the old school board games she liked to play with them.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, James Ankney; her children, Dawn Ankney, Dustin Ankney, Todd (Tracy) Ankney; sister, Cheryl (Dave) Klees; grandchildren, Kay Lingo, Tyler (Katie) Ankney, Brittany Ankney, Ean Ankney, Jameson Love, Sarah Ankney, Hailey Ankney; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces nephews, family & friends.  Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Hermann, and her sister, Diane Yockey.A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at Kemper Center, 6501 3rd Avenue, Kenosha. Visitation will begin at 9 am with a service to follow at 11. Internment will take place at a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove.
