Bert K. Janson, 78, of Pleasant Prairie-WI, passed away, with family at his side,
Monday, April 26, 2021 at Aurora Medical Center.
Bert was born on September 20, 1942 to the late Sune Janson and May-Britt Larsson
(Blomgren) in Stockholm, Sweden.
Bert married Carole Sanseverino in 1962 and they had two children, Yvonne and Scott.
Later, Bert married Diane Ristow in 1980 and they had a daughter, Lisa.
Bert enjoyed card games, especially Swedish Poker. He was a life-long Chicago Cubs,
Bears, and Blackhawk’s fan. He was very proud of his Swedish Heritage and made sure
to instill these values into his children. He also loved cooking traditional Swedish foods.
He enjoyed playing tennis, soccer, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing and bowling in
his younger years. He worked for many years with Flash Cab in Chicago and shared
many stories with his family.
Bert is survived by his wife Diane Janson of Pleasant Prairie-WI, former wife Carole
Janson-Hagenauer of Elk Grove Village-IL, his children Yvonne (Janson) Eckhoff of La
Crosse-WI, Scott Janson of Chicago-IL and Lisa Janson (Daniell Sabater) of
Kenosha-WI, his grandchildren Stephanie Eckhoff, Jordan Eckhoff, Eric Eckhoff and
Neven Sabater, his nephew Dan (Alexa) Ristow and his Step-Mother Eva Janson.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial will be held on Saturday, May 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with shared
memories from the family at 11:30 a.m.; virtual Zoom option will be available. In lieu of
flowers, ferns and perennials would be appreciated to let him live on.
