FROEDTERT SOUTH ANNOUNCES NINE SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS

A total of $20,000 in scholarships are being awarded to Kenoshans!

Froedtert South recently announced the 2023-24 scholarship winners.

Here is a closer look at the recipients:

Victoria Thormodson

Awarded Scholarship: Peter Ploskee, Sr.

Amount: $2,000/a year for 4 years ($8,000 total)

Career Aspiration: Physical Therapist

University/College: UW- Milwaukee

Victoria is obtaining her degree to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy and wants to become a Physical Therapist. She is currently attending UW-Milwaukee, with plans to graduate in December 2026. She has been heavily involved in Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU), is a Young Adult Student Leader, and an Intervarsity Member. Victoria donates crocheted hats to local charity and volunteers at the Health Care Network.

Olivia Dizon

Awarded Scholarship: Riley McDavid Scholarship

Amount: $1,250/a year for 4 years ($5,000 total)

Career Aspiration: Medical or Hospice Social Worker

University/College: UW- Milwaukee

Olivia is currently attending UW-Milwaukee to pursue her bachelor’s in social work. She expects to graduate in May 2025. Olivia has worked at Subway, Cracker Barrel, and Kwik Trip. She is a peer mentor at the UWM Student Success Center and is part of the Music Leadership program. In her free time, Olivia attends the Student Social Worker Association and the Student Gerontology Association. She volunteers as a hospice patient visitor and virtual math and reading tutor.

Skylynn Medina

Awarded Scholarship: Froedtert South Ambassador Scholarship

Amount: $2,000/ a year for 1 year ($2,000 total)

Career Aspiration: Radiology Technologist

University/College: UW-Milwaukee

Skylynn is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science. Skylynn’s career goal is to become a Radiology Technologist. Skylynn had previously worked at Amazon, before joining the Froedtert South Team. She volunteered at the Creaciones Karina in Waukegan, Illinois. Skylynn is very passionate about her careers goals and has a deep desire to contribute positively to society by providing essential diagnostics services that aid in patient care and treatment.

Ava Craig

Awarded Scholarship: Dr. James and Shirley Duncan, Jr. & Jospeh and Phyllis Braun Scholarship

Amount: $2,000/ a year for 1 year ($2,000 total)

Career Aspiration: Physical Therapist

University/College: UW-La Crosse

Ava is currently attending the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in pursuit of a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Ava would like to become a Physical Therapist, with a focus on Exercise and Sports Science. She is currently in high school and will graduate college in 2028. She has been part of the National Honor Society, freshman mentor program, and dance team. Ava has been employed at the Rec Plex as a summer camp counselor and at Athletico Physical Therapy as a Rehabilitation Aide. In her free time, she rings the bell for the Salvation Army, participates in the Tri My Best Triathlon and Helping Hands.

Madeline Springer                                                   

Awarded Scholarship: Jeanne, Margaret & Charles Davin, M.D.

Amount: $1,000/ a year for 1 year ($1,000 total)

Career Aspiration: Registered Nurse

University/College: UW- Oshkosh

Madeline is currently attending UW-Oshkosh fulltime pursuing her BSN. Madeline plans to graduate in May 2026. She has been part of the Oshkosh Student Nurses Association for around two years, as well as a member of the National Honor Society and a Key Club member. Madeline has worked at Festival Food and currently works at the front desk in her dorm. Madeline has volunteered as a Reeve Union Board volunteer and Key Club volunteer.

Annelise Seymour  

Awarded Scholarship: Hannah Stocker Scholarship

Amount: $1,000/a year for 1 year ($1,000 total)

Career Aspiration: Physician Assistant

University/College: UW-Parkside

Annelise is attending UW-Parkside and will graduate with her Applied Health Sciences in May 2027. Annelise is part of the National Honors Society, Student Government and Key Club. She has participated in club soccer at the national pro level. Annelise has worked at the Pleasant Prairie Rec Plex as a member services representative. In her free time, she volunteers at Feed My Starving Children, Pike River Cleanup, and at blood drives as a volunteer.

Allyson Orrick

Awarded Scholarship: Peter Ploskee Continuing Education

Amount: $1,000/a year for 1 year ($1,000 total)

Career Aspiration: Nursing Executive 

University/College: Chamberlain College of Nursing

Allyson is currently attending Chamberlain College to obtain her master’s in nursing. Allyson started at Froedtert South during the COVID-19 Pandemic, in OP Care, in October 2020. Allyson was previously the Director of Nursing at Champion Care. While at UW-Parkside, she was a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Allyson wants to continue learning so she can improve practices and the quality of care provided to her patients. She is very committed and passionate about the nursing field.
