NON-SURGICAL FAT LOSS TECHNIQUE

“CoolSculpting gives my patients noticeable results,” said Dr. Hill. “I am proud we have added this FDA-cleared option to our services here at Froedtert South. This is just one more way we are helping our community members achieve the health and wellness goals that they are striving for.”

CoolSculpting is most successful for individuals who have stubborn areas of fat that will not go away with exercise and diet alone. “CoolSculpting targets superficial or pinchable fat,” said Dr. Hill. “Ideal candidates have a BMI (Body Mass Index) less than 30 and already have healthy exercise and nutrition habits. Common treatment areas include the chin, abdomen, flanks, inner and outer thighs, back, and upper thighs below the buttocks. CoolSculpting is not intended for weight loss. CoolSculpting improves contouring by reducing fat that is resistant to dieting and exercise.”

A CoolSculpting consultation typically includes a discussion of the target area and goals along with pre-treatment photos. Treatment lasts approximately thirty-five to forty-five minutes. During the treatment, an applicator suctions to the skin and cools to a controlled temperature. “The careful process ensures that the skin does not get frostbite, but below the skin cools to a level where the fat cells shrivel up and go away,” said Dr. Hill. “The skin can handle the temperature, but the fat cells cannot. The immune system then cleans up the damaged fat cells.”

Immediately after the CoolSculpting treatment, the treated area is massaged and then the patient may leave. Some temporary swelling or numbness may occur, but post-treatment is generally painless. “Patients see results in two to four weeks and body sculpting changes up to three months. The average patient benefits from two to three treatments per target area with four to six weeks between treatments,” said Dr. Hill. “CoolSculpting is unique in that changes to the treatment area continue several weeks and even months after a treatment. With a healthy and active lifestyle, the results are permanent.”

Dr. Hill cautions against non-FDA-cleared alternatives and said, “Other options claiming to be comparable to CoolSculpting are not FDA-cleared and often do not live up to their claims. These alternatives can be uncomfortable for the patient and cannot penetrate deep enough to be as effective as CoolSculpting. Cryosculpt treatments use a wand device and are user-dependent with inconsistent results. Patient safety and reliable results are the foundation of all aesthetic treatments offered by Froedtert South.”

FROM STRUGGLING TO SCULPTED

A local resident, Tammy Boss, had some stubborn areas of fat on her abdomen, and Dr. Hill took her from struggling to sculpted with CoolSculpting. “I had a hysterectomy, and no matter how many sit-ups I did, I still struggled to tone my stomach area,” said Tammy. “I consulted with Dr. Hill, and he said I was a good candidate for CoolSculpting.”

“For Tammy’s CoolSculpting treatment,” said Dr. Hill, “We initially targeted lower on her abdomen to treat the fatty prominence below her hysterectomy scar. For her second treatment, we targeted a little higher.”

Tammy praised Dr. Hill, the treatment process, and her results. Tammy said, “The appointments were conveniently located close to home. I just chilled and listened to music during each session. The CoolSculpting did not hurt. It felt a little irritating, but it was all tolerable. I was in and out in less than an hour. Dr. Hill and the clinic staff are wonderful! Dr. Hill is very personable. He reviewed my expectations, and he explained the process and what the results would be. I saw results from my CoolSculpting within a month, but I still saw changes occurring up to three months later. At six months, I had a second treatment done. Once the fat cells are destroyed, I do not need to CoolSculpt again. I do need to maintain my healthy lifestyle and exercise, but these treatments have been well worth it.”

Tammy utilizes Dr. Hill’s expertise and other services, too. “Dr. Hill also does Botox for some of my facial wrinkles. He thoroughly discussed with me what I need and do not need, and he is very honest about the results. I have shopped around, and the Froedtert South Botox prices are very reasonable. For Botox, Dr. Hill gives me half the units other providers have given me, and I feel his treatments last longer. Dr. Hill is highly skilled and knowledgeable, and I wholeheartedly recommend him to others.”

MOMMY MAKEOVERS AND MORE

Dr. Hill’s service offerings are extensive. In addition to CoolSculpting, another popular service he provides is the Mommy Makeover. A Mommy Makeover includes breast augmentation and a tummy tuck.

“Consultations for cosmetic options are always complementary and no referrals are needed,” said Dr. Hill. “Cosmetic options are primarily self-pay and do not utilize insurance. Some medical services, such as Botox for migraines, body contouring after weight loss, eyelid lift for obstructed vision, and other reasons may utilize insurance.”

Botox treatments can be utilized cosmetically, such as to reduce forehead wrinkles, or medically, such as to treat excessive under the arm sweating, Raynaud’s Disease or TMJ syndrome from chronic teeth grinding. “What is critical to note when seeking Botox treatments, is the formal training of the service provider,” said Dr. Hill. “Some Botox injectors may have only completed a short course on Botox administration. My training is more extensive. Throughout my plastic surgery training, I participated in a weekly resident Botox clinic for three years, and I stay current with continuing education. I am committed to providing safe and result-oriented services for my patients.”

Dr. Hill helps patients with excess skin removal after extreme weight loss. Froedtert South Plastic Surgery is also on the leading front of laser hair removal. “We use the relatively painless Splendor X for laser hair removal,” said Dr. Hill. “The Splendor X has two different wavelengths of light which can better distinguish skin color from hair color. This technology enables us to clear an area of hair in approximately four to six treatments.”

Additional aesthetic services offered by Dr. Hill include liposuction, abdominoplasty, brachioplasty, breast enhancement surgery including augmentation, mastopexy and reduction, thigh lift, blepharoplasty, and more.
