Ranger of the Week: Rade Novakovich

Junior scores three goals, including a game winner in OT, in two victories

Fresh off a monster week for the No. 23 ranked Parkside men’s soccer team, redshirt-junior Rade Novakovich has been named the Kenosha.com Ranger of the Week.  

The Muskego native was also named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Offensive Player of the Week after he scored three goals and assisted one over the last two games. In a thrilling overtime win over a tough Illinois-Springfield squad, Novakovich came through clutch with the golden goal in the 97th minute. In a 5-0 win over Malone, he scored the second and third goals of the game for Parkside, and assisted on the team’s first of the day.   

With their record now at 3-0-1 heading into conference play this week, the Rangers find themselves in the latest United Soccer Coaches Association Top-25 rankings. Parkside sits at No. 23 in the nation and No. 3 in the Midwest Region behind Indianapolis and Cedarville. TOP-25 STORY

The men’s soccer team will hit the road for a pair of tough matchups at Northwood and Saginaw Valley State on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Be sure to come out and cheer on the Rangers next weekend as they return home to face Davenport at noon Friday, Sept. 24 and Purdue Northwest on 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26 at at Wood Road Field. Catch the Rangers in action this weekend 

This upcoming weekend on campus, three teams will compete at home as women’s soccer battles Ferris State at noon Friday (Sept. 17), the cross country team hosts the 2021 Lucian Rosa Invite 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 18) and the volleyball team welcomes in Purdue Northwest 2 p.m. Saturday (Sept. 18).
