VIRTUAL Salt Awareness Week

January 26 @ 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)
Speakers Vary Daily
Free

Winter salt and deicers are common water pollutants. Once extracted from its original pockets within the earth and then connected with water, chlorides persist indefinitely with only one teaspoon of road salt needed to permanently pollute five gallons of freshwater. Join us to hear from experts on the #thetruecostofsalt on our drinking water and freshwater ecosystems, and how you can be a freshwater advocate in your community! Featuring five speakers over five days, these daily 30-minute streams will address the environmental toll of deicers, salts in our drinking water, actions the Wisconsin DNR is planning, and how residents can get involved.

Join us from January 23rd- 27th each day from 12:30 – 1 pm via YouTube. Tune in through the Wisconsin Salt Wise YouTube channel or register at www.wisaltwise.com.
