Peter Stathas Dance is so excited to return to the Sugar Creek Barn in the rural cornfields of Wisconsin to host our second residency. Last year, the inaugural Barn Project was a meaningful time for us to reconnect, rediscover, and re-engage with one another as a company after being apart for almost 2 years. This year, the purpose of our residency is to expand our community presence and vision of engaging and connecting with dance artists.
To bring our purpose to life, Peter Stathas Dance will be collaborating with dance artists from Illinois, Wisconsin and New York. We will take class together, exchange artistic knowledge and values, and experience new choreographic works and processes. In the spirit of the barn, we are opening our doors and widening our circle to welcome new energy and community members. We believe in creating and leading from a place of love, diversity and inclusion and are thrilled to facilitate an opportunity to share those values with our collaborators and all of you.
During this residency, PSD will return to the full length work, In The Garden, as well as three new works-in-progress and current repertoire. In addition to the company’s choreographic offerings, we are excited to bring works by choreographers Dawn Springer, Amy Wilkinson, Sara Hook, and David Parker, and the dance artists that work with these exceptional choreographers to the barn.
We will have several opportunities for you to connect with us and will be holding performances that will feature different works from different choreographers. This will give you the ability to join our expanded community and be a part of our process, inspiration and collaborative spirit, as well as experience the incredible beauty and energy of “the Barn.”
