Join us for the art exhibit “Place/Trace” Friday, Dec. 1 through Tuesday, Dec. 12 and from Thursday, Jan. 4 through Saturday, Jan. 20, in the H. F. Johnson Gallery of Art.
“Place/Trace” is an exhibition of 20th century landscape paintings curated from Carthage’s Samuel and Berry Shoen Collection of Soviet Art. “Place/Trace” is a playful and speculative exhibition that contemplates the landscapes but also the trace evidence of the people and artists who called these places home.
This exhibit is part of Carthage’s second Soviet Art Symposium “From Canvas to Cosmos: Soviet Art, Solaris, Space Exploration, and the Science of Serene Spaces.”

Symposium — Thursday, Jan. 18-Saturday, Jan. 20
The gallery is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Extended hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Please note: The gallery is closed Wednesday, Dec. 13 through Wednesday, Jan. 3.
All art exhibits are free and open to the public.
