Carthage Percussion Studio Concert

May 8 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Attend the Percussion Studio Concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, in the A. F. Siebert Chapel.

The concert will feature a variety of performances from both the Percussion Ensemble and individual student soloists. From arrangements of classical mainstays to experimental works, the concert will provide a taste of both the familiar and the novel.

The Percussion Ensemble is led by Michael Kozakis, adjunct assistant professor of music. In addition to his work at Carthage, Prof. Kozakis is an active percussionist in the Chicago area. He has performed with both the Chicago Symphony and the Lyric Opera orchestras as an extra percussionist, and played for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from Feb. 2005 until June 2007. Past credits include performances with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Chicago Chamber Musicians, MusicNOW, and more. In his work at Carthage, Prof. Kozakis leads the percussion students through a variety of pieces and helps them compile a repertoire of enriching works that showcase their percussion mastery and musicality.

This concert is free and open to the public (no tickets required). Watch also from home through our livestream.
