Wayne A. Jacobsma, 78, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Aurora, St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee.
Born on December 15, 1946, in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Henry G. and Jeanette G. (Boersma) Jacobsma. On March 16th, 1974, he married Marsha Kay Cartwright at Bethel Christian Reformed in Lansing, IL.
Wayne graduated from Fenger High School in Chicago in 1964. After graduation, he was drafted by the Army, where he served as a medic in Germany during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, he was employed as a truck driver for well over 50 years. He was also a valued member of the Lansing Fire Department, serving as a Lieutenant. He enjoyed coaching his daughter’s softball teams, fishing, boating, and the casinos. He was a die-hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, teaching them to fish.
In addition to his wife, Wayne is survived by his daughters Lana Schimian, Lisa (Matthew) Obermeyer, grandchildren Joseph, Sydney, Dylan, and Maya, along with his brothers Ed (Mary) and Ken Jacobsma.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings Hank and Chuck Jacobsma.
