Shirley M. Swanson, 99, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Monday, July 28, 2025, at Parkside Manor.
She was born on April 27, 1926, to the late Norbert and Rose M. (Macner) Tyson in Kenosha. She was educated in the schools of Kenosha.
Shirley married Carl R. Swanson on April 26, 1947, at St. James Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1999.
Shirley was an OB Technician at St. Catherine’s Hospital for many years.
Shirley enjoyed crocheting, anything Disney, and was an animal lover. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her daughters Rosemarie Johnston and Karen Rongholt, her grandchildren Jennifer (Rory) Milligan, Jamie (Shane) Ramos, Jill Rongholt, Joseph (Katherine) Rongholt, Kimberly (Tyler) Northern and Matthew Kaminski, her great grandchildren Ashley Johnston, Alize Hardin, Samantha (Sierra) Ramos, Alexa Ramos, Emily Milligan, Hannah (Jared) Bird, Cole (Sophia) Ramos, Corbin Ramos, Allyson Kaminski, Jacob Kaminski, Ruzena Rongholt, Elijah Hill, Kaiden Kaminski, Allayna Kaminski, Hailey Milligan, Matthew Kaminski Jr., Dustin Kaminski, Isabelle Northern, Zoe Rongholt-Pade, Kingston Northern and Elizabeth Northern, her great-great grandchildren Armani Lovelace-Bran, Natieliya Lovelace and Darius James Lovelace and her son-in-law Ron Olson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughters Kathy Kaminski and Elizabeth “Betty” Olson, three grandchildren Kristen, Nicole, and Allyson, one great-grandchild, two sisters Barbara Hammond and Rosemary Petersen, and a son-in-law Jim Johnston.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley will be held on Monday, August 4th, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (corner of 73rd St. and 39th Ave.). Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
