August 15, 1934 – November 4, 2025
Ronald “Ron” Formella, 91, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 15, 1934, in the Town of Sharon, WI, he was the son of the late Anton and Monica (Weisbrod) Formella. He later lived in Polonia, WI, and there attended Polonia Elementary School and Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parochial School. Thereafter, he attended P.J. Jacobs High School.
In 1951, he moved to Milwaukee, WI, with his parents and graduated from West Division High School. He also attended Marquette University, Milwaukee Technical College, and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Ron served in the United States Marines from 1956 until 1959, receiving two good conduct medals prior to his honorable discharge as Sergeant.
On September 19, 1959, he married Patricia Ann “Pat” Sikorski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, WI. They resided in Milwaukee, WI, until moving to the Kenosha area in 1969.
He worked for Nash Kelvinator and later American Motors/Daimler-Chrysler as a Quality Control Supervisor until his retirement in 1989. Following his retirement, he worked for Lake County, IL Forest Preserve, Kenosha Achievement Center, and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Ron was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he served as a lector. He also volunteered at Hawthorn Hollow. He loved nature, collecting rocks, birdwatching, biking, bowling, reading, and watching the news. He enjoyed cutting the lawn and was meticulous about his yard.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Formella of Pleasant Prairie, WI; four children, Brian (Amy) Formella of Stevens Point, WI, Gregg (Dr. Marcela Torres) Formella of Dallas, TX, Lynn (Chad) Winston of Hartland, WI, and Heather (David) Kucharski of Elkhorn, WI; 13 grandchildren, Jonathan Formella, Hannah (Evan) Zdroik, Becca (Zach) Brocken, Benjamin Formella, Dr. Joseph Formella, Michael Formella, Sophia (Jackson) Potter, Daniel Formella, Alec Winston, Cole Winston, Kate Winston, Ella Kucharski and Anna Kucharski; and one great-grandson, Myles Brocken. He is further survived by other special family and friends.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Elsie Kawa, Anthony Formella, and Greg Formella, in infancy. Also, his beloved canine pets, Rocky, Manfred, and Snickers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of Mass. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Mary Catholic Church or Hawthorn Hollow would be appreciated by the family.
