Robert L. Geary, 78, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on June 12, 1947, to the late Bertram and Victoria (Wielgos) Geary in Bay City, Michigan.
Robert entered the US Navy on September 24, 1965, and served on the USS Waller, USS Coontz, USS Oklahoma City, and USS Jason. On the USS Jason, he was a Machinist Mate First Class, then Master at Arms, and then a recruiter. He retired from the Navy on July 31, 1989.
On June 9, 1979, he married Sally M. Minel in the Philippines.
Robert was a member of Kenosha Bible Church.
In his younger days, Robert enjoyed playing volleyball and bowling. He enjoyed listening to music and karaoke, watching movies, and was an avid reader and stamp collector.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Sally M., his daughter Rosalie (Dwight) Erickson, his grandchildren Bethany (James) Tubbs, Gwen Erickson, and Faith Erickson and his brothers James (Jackie) Geary, Ray Geary, and Joel (Carol) Geary, his five nephews, and his one niece.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Carole Osborne, and a nephew, Ryan Geary.
Funeral Services for Robert will be held on Friday, September 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Kenosha Bible Church (5405 – 67th St.) with Full Military Honors to follow. Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Private interment will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
