1956-2026
Peter A. Best, age 69, of Kenosha, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born on October 9, 1956, Peter lived a quiet and steady life filled with hard work, loyalty, and the simple joys that brought him comfort.
Peter retired from SC Johnson in Racine, where he worked for many years as a talented and dependable mechanic. He took pride in doing things the right way and was known for his patience, precision, and willingness to help others.
Music was always a part of Peter’s life. He played trombone in high school and remained a lifelong fan of the band Chicago. He also enjoyed the everyday comforts of a McDonald’s Filet‑O‑Fish, a meal from KFC, and the loyal companionship of his Scottish Terrier, Huntley, who was never far from his side.
Though he had no surviving family, Peter is survived by his true friends — Gary Jenkins, Pat Brennen, Joe Serum, Dave Linel, Joe Lorie, and Dave Hawley — who stood by him with genuine care and friendship. They were his chosen family, and their loyalty meant everything to him.
Peter will be remembered for his honesty, his quiet humor, his love of music, and the way he lived life on his own terms. Those who knew him will carry his memory with affection and gratitude.
Private arrangements are being made by those who loved him.
