Michael Campagna of Racine passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 16, 2026. He was born in Kenosha, the son of the late Casimer and Theresa (Schlaffer) Campagna.
He attended various Kenosha elementary schools and was enrolled in the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in 1966, where he graduated in 1971. He worked as a drill press operator at the former L.C. Thomsen Company for 34 years and retired in 2007.
Michael loved football and baseball and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, Wisconsin Badgers, Chicago Cubs, and the Milwaukee Brewers. He enjoyed anything involving history and old comedy shows, his favorite being Laurel and Hardy. Michael was a member of the Kenosha/Racine Deaf Club for many years.
He is survived by his sisters, Peggy Principe of Lakewood, CO, and Laura Christopherson of Kenosha, WI; his twin brother, Larry Campagna of Vero Beach, FL; his nephew, Tom (Bobbi) Christopherson; and nieces, Amy Hess, Stacey Goetz (Mike Stirle), Cari Campagna, and Amanda Primavera. He is also survived by a great-nephew, Adam, and great-nieces, Savannah, Sydney, Quincy, Marissa, Danielle, Giavanna, and Madilyn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Dean Christopherson, and his nephew-in-law, Steve Hess.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the caring and exceptional staff at Elizabeth Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home (5111 60th Street in Kenosha) on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 10 am – 12 pm, with a service to follow. Private interment will be held at a later date.
Due to those with allergies, please do not send flowers – in lieu of them, memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
