February 25, 1930 – December 27, 2025
Max Bair, 95, of Kenosha, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, after a long and eventful life. He was with loved ones until the end, just as he wanted it.
Max was born on February 25, 1930, in Nebraska City, NE, the son of the late Max & Grace (Best) Bair Sr. He was educated in the schools of NE & IA. Max had two children with his first wife, Donna Friedman. Max married Judith Kruse on June 3, 1958, in Iowa. They had two children and later divorced as well. He was employed for over 30 years as a teacher at Kenosha Tremper High School. A wonderful cook, Max, enjoyed feeding his family until it became his family’s turn to cook for him. Every summer, you would find Max out on Lake Michigan fishing as often as possible. He continued to do that until he could no longer take the long days in the sun. A lifelong Nebraska Cornhusker fan, Max also enjoyed cheering for the Cubs, Brewers, and Packers. Max travelled extensively throughout the United States with his best friend, Ray Gerlach, and also made daily trips to make sure Lake Michigan was “still there” with his beloved dog, Annie, at his side.
Survivors include his companion of 50 years, Evelyn Delcorps of Kenosha; children, Mitchell Bair of Foothill Ranch, CA, Marlys (Tony) Siebert of Dayton, NV, Karen (Glenn) Bair Frazee of Twin Lakes, & John Bair, Kenosha; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Max was preceded in death by his brother, Herb.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
