It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louis Angelo Capriotti on Monday, December 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born October 9, 194,9, in Kenosha, he graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1967 and had been a lifelong resident of Kenosha.
From 1968 until August 1972, he was in the U.S. Army serving 18 months in Vietnam as a Combat Medic, also serving time in Germany and Kansas. Louis also served in the Air Force Reserve, being activated in 1991 for Operation Desert Storm. He retired from the military on January 1, 2000, as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving 25 years. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for valor, Combat Medic Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Air Force Commendation, Army Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, and others.
From 1973 until 2003, he was employed by American Motors/Chrysler Corporation. He was also employed by the Department of Defense while laid off from Chrysler from 1989 until he was called back in 1995.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, VFW Post #1865, PLAV, chartered member of the Kenosha Area Vietnam Vets, American Legion #552, Brothers of Bravo Company 1/11 5th Infantry Division, Italian American Society, Bradford Alumni Association, and Deutscher Manner Verein of Racine.
Louis is survived by his wife, Kathryn (Jens); sons, Jason (Cassie) Capriotti, Milwaukee and Timothy (Jayne) Capriotti, Kenosha, and his sister, Angela (Jerry) Pynaker, Kenosha; grandchildren, Eleanor, Lydia and Anderson; brothers-in-law, James Jens, Bob (special friend Debbie) Jens; sisters-in-law, Mary Jens, Carol (John) Prestigiacomo, Lori Jens, and many nephews, nieces and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father and mother-in-law; brother-in-law, John Jens, and daughter-in-law, Karalyn Capriotti
Inurnment will be held privately at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to Messiah Lutheran Church https://www.messiahkenosha.org/ would be appreciated.
