July 25, 1947 – December 28, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leslie Jo Coshun, age 78, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Leslie was born on July 25, 1947, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to William and Delores (Hamelink) Winberg. She was the second of four children.
A lifelong resident of Kenosha, Leslie graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School. On October 14, 1967, she married the love of her life, Richard Coshun Sr., and together they shared 58 years of marriage.
Leslie worked at American Motors, Chat ‘N Chew Drive-In, and Snap-On Tools, where she dedicated 17 years of service before retiring in 2005. Leslie was known for her loving nature, her fierce determination, and sometimes a bit of stubbornness that only added to the charm of her character. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, like mowing her lawn while enjoying a Diet Coke. She was known for her competitive spirit and her love of bowling, earning induction into the Kenosha Bowling Hall of Fame in 2007. Leslie was also a back-to-back senior women’s bowling champion. She also enjoyed golfing and deeply valued the friendships and accomplishments she shared both on the lanes and on the course.
Leslie was a loving wife, mother, and proud grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Richard Coshun Sr.; her son, Richard Coshun Jr.; her saint of a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Coshun; and her cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Collin, Kelsey, and Lauren, who lovingly called her “Mema.” She is also survived by her nieces, Jennifer Hilgendorf and Nicole Winberg, and her nephews, Billy Winberg Jr. and Thom Campbell, who will continue to carry her memory forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Delores Winberg; her son, Robert “Rob” Coshun; and her three siblings, William E. Winberg, Jerry K. Winberg, and Kristina A. Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/en/affiliates/wisconsin) would be appreciated.
Leslie’s legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the memories shared with those who loved her.
