Lennart Carl Tillander, 89 years old of Kenosha, WI, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Lake Haven Memory Care, Kenosha, WI.
He was born May 7, 1936, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Carl and Helen (Anderson) Tillander. Len graduated from Lane Technical High School, Chicago, IL, and attended three years at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Len then went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1957 as a Combat Engineer, stationed in Germany.
He worked for Hubbard and Company in the product cost estimation department, Ecko in the production control and industrial engineering departments, and Republic Molding Corp as production manager, ending his time there as the plant manager. His most recent employment was with Uline in the freight department, and he retired after 13 years. Len was a former member of the Society of Plastic Engineers, a former Cub Master #3957 of Chicago, a former member of the Retirees Club IAM #34, and a member of the American Legion Post #552, Somers, WI.
On February 5, 1983, Len married Nancy Bowen. He enjoyed camping, fishing, computers, and working around the house. He was a lifelong Chicago Bear fan and was an avid coin and stamp collector. Len also loved dining out at various restaurants with friends.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; stepdaughter, Virginia (Daniel) Birch; stepson, James (Judy) Bowen; and two granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, Len was preceded in death by a son, Steven Tillander.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lake Haven Memory Care and Aurora at Home Hospice for their care and compassion, with a special thanks to Shelby and Danielle.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home. Funeral services with military honors will conclude at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be private in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Somers, WI.
