Laurel Jean Caflisch (Gonsky) of Pleasant Prairie. At the age of 85, on June 20th, 2025 entered the arms of the Lord, after a long battle with dementia.
Laurel was born to Walter & Violet Gonsky on November 29th, 1939. She was educated and raised in Union Grove, WI. Shortly, after graduating from the local high school, she was united in marriage with Frederick (Fritz) Caflisch on October 11th, 1958.
She spent over 50 years working as a professional domestic engineer, but the highlight of her life was centered around her local church. She had been a member of the congregation for well over 60 years. Attending weekly services, joining the bible study classes, volunteering with weekly contributions and occasionally teaching Sunday School classes for the children.
Reminiscing with friends and family at various events & holidays as possible would always put a smile on her face. Enjoying an array of hobbies including; baking, sewing, crocheting, crafting activities, gardening and shopping.
Survived by a daughter Jennifer (John) DeBettignies, grandchildren: Jason & Jasmine (Art Young) DeBettignies, a great-grand daughter Serenity DeBettignies, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Preceded in death by her husband Frederick (Fritz) and daughter Mary Jean Caflisch. Parents Walter & Violet Gonsky. Brothers: Deane, Curtiss, Walter, & Dale Gonsky. Sisters: Sharon & Rosemary Gonsky.
We take strength in the fact that she is no longer struggling with the ailments of her condition. It is comforting knowing that she has finally reunited, into the open arms of her loving family that preceded her in death.
