1976-2016
Kenneth Dale Wilson, of Kenosha, passed away on March 8, 2026, unexpectedly from a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family in his home. He was born on October 12th, 1976, in Waukegan, Illinois, to David Wilson and Rosetta (Steen) Wilson. He attended and graduated from Waukegan High School and the College of Lake County culinary school. Over the years, he continued to work with the College of Lake County culinary students and fostered learning outside of the classroom in his kitchen. Ken was an accomplished chef in the Lake County and Kenosha areas and even ran his own catering business: Ken’s Cuisine. One of Ken’s greatest accomplishments was his culinary training in France for several years with some of the world’s greatest chefs. On June 18th, 2022, he married the love of his life, Marlena Dlugopolski, in Delavan, WI. Ken’s greatest joys in life were his family and friends, cooking, his beloved cat, Mo, and bringing people together with a meal and music. By far, being a dad and husband was his favorite role and what he treasured most in life. He was loved for his infectious smile, his radiant and positive energy, and his desire to always help others. He was a larger-than-life person and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marlena Dlugopolski, his 3-year-old daughter, Alaiyah Wilson, parents, David and Rosetta Wilson, sister, Sharon Wilson, mother and father-in-law, Dianna and Frank Dlugopolski, brother-in-law, Nathan (Kat Fleitt) Dlugopolski, and many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Leo and Shirley Wilson, and Queen Steen.
A celebration of life for Ken will be held at Kemper Center Founder’s Hall (6501 3rd Ave), on Friday, March 20th, 2026, at 5 P.M. A visitation will also be held at Founder’s Hall on the same day from 3 P.M. until the time of the service. Please wear vibrant colors to celebrate his life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Gallbladder Cancer Foundation in Kenneth’s name are appreciated.
