Karen Rae Petreman Knurr, 83, of Kenosha, passed away on December 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Karen was born on February 27, 1942, in Kenosha, the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Vogler) Petreman. She was educated in the schools of Zion, Illinois, and graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
On April 22, 1966, she was united in marriage to Jerome Trendel. The couple parted ways, and Karen married Gary Knurr on February 8, 2004, in Kenosha. She worked as a legal secretary for many years. Karen was a member of Christ Community Church of Zion, IL. She was passionate about supporting the missionaries of the church. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, and camping. She loved spending time with her friends, family, and her dachshunds.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Knurr of Kenosha; children, Jennifer Trendel, Jarrod (Sandy) Trendel, and Ann (Pete) Henry, all of Wisconsin; brothers, James (Neda) Petreman of WI, and David Petreman of OH. She is further survived by her five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
